List of Things You Can Do This Ramadan!!!

Maybe... I can post pictures...? InshAllah! Say InshAllah!

  • Create a cute Dhikr and dua book!

My friend got me a really cute notebook and boy do I plan to make a mess out of it.

  • Learn the 99 names of Allah or as many as you can (yt link)

My family and I used to listen to this every day in Ramadan while we were still in Saudi Arabia.

  • Memorize the first 10 ayahs of Surah Kahf (for protection against Dajjal)

Here's a tip which helped me (I don't know if it will help you because we're all different). Learn and recite with qirat (a beautiful voice used to recite the Qur'an). I think I have an 💫amazing💫 voice. But really, it has helped me a lot in memorizing big surahs including Surah Rahman, which is the longest Surah I know. You know how you learn everything faster when it's transformed into a song which is why Kindergartners have all these songs to learn the Alphabet, days of the week, names of the months etc. Except memorizing the Qur'an is so much more beautiful because girl! This is the word of God. And those 10 ayahs will literally help protect you from the evil of Dajjal (the Anti-Christ for those who aren't Muslim)

  • Create a list of everything you want in the Dunya (this life)

  • Create a list of everything you want in the Aakhira (after death)

  • Create a list of everything you want for your family and friends

  • Create a list of everything you want for yourself

  • Read off the list when making dua to Allah (SWT).

And recite some duas from the dua book during the odd nights of the last10 nights of Ramadan, or if you're feeling extra special, do it every night!

  • List all the memories yo can't forget. The good, the bad, the ugly, the embarrassing, the cringy, the ones that pop up before you sleep, the happy, the sad, the scary, the angry all of them. And make dua for all of them. Thank Allah for the good ones. Thank Allah for getting you through hard times. Ask Allah for forgiveness for the bad memories. Ask Allah to help you not repeat the cringy and embarrassing ones. Ask Allah help to get through the scary ones and thank him for helping you get through the scary ones.

  • Learn. How. To. Cook.

  • Bake or cook something and give it to your neighbors. It sounds cheesy. I know. If not your neighbors, then give it to your friends! Make it look real fancy.

  • Try to mend relationships. Whether it be family, friends... because there is no Shaytaan (Satan) to give encourage them into saying bad stuff (unless their Nafs [intention] is telling them...). So... yeah. Maybe just try?

  • Pray as many Sunnah and Nafl prayers as you can.

I'll attack a table or list below, InshAllah.

  • Watch Islamic videos.

I'll post some video links below, InshAllah.

  • Read Qur'an everyday.

  • Get👏A👏Hobby👏.

So you have something to do when your bored. It could be calligraphy, it could be drawing, it could be writing, it could be cooking, it could be anything as long as it is halal and permissible.

  • Read Islamic books. A few recommendations. I haven't read any of them yet, but InshAllah I'm gonna. These are just recommendations from various people and also some I found online and thought sounded interesting. If you have any more recommendations, pop them in the comments:

InshAllah, your Ramadan will go amazingly! Just stick to what you said you were going to do. I know that's hard! But think of it this way: All the things you promised to do were intentioned when Shaytaan was still present. In Ramadan, he's locked up! It's just you, your nafs, and Allah (SWT).

Also, you know before you go to school, or before you cook, or before you go on a holiday or trip, or before you start a big game, you plan, practice and prepare everything? So why not do the same thing when preparing for Ramdhan? How do you prepare for Ramdhan? By starting to do the things you promised yourself that you would do. No saying "I'll wait till Ramdhan", no. Start now, because that's the best way to prepare yourself for this blessed month.

On another note, here are some things you should definitely knock off for the sake of Allah during Ramadan:

  • Swearing and insulting (fasting of the tongue)

  • Using dirty or nasty language (remember Zina of the tongue and fasting with the tongue)

  • Listening to music (fasting of the ears. Listen to some nasheeds without instrumental music or even better, listen to some Qur'an. Or if you listen to music during studying, switch to white noise. I think it helps you even better.)

  • Backbiting. Also known as gossip and tea. (fasting of the tongue and ears)

  • Eating and drinking Haram stuff.

  • Sleeping all day long (I know it sounds so relaxing, especially when you're a student in the weekends or holidays. You can take a little nap, in fact it is Sunnah. But don't sleep more than an hour! That's not a nap, that hits straight into an REM sleep. And you'll wake up feeling even more tired than usual)

  • Zina of any kind (obviously)

  • TikTok (cuz it got a lot of music)

  • and more which I can't really think of right now

Prayers:

Fardh (mandatory)-----

  • Fajr 2 Rak'ah

  • Dhuhr 4 Rak'ah

  • Asr 4 Rak'ah

  • Maghrib 3 Rak'ah

  • Isha 4 Rak'ah (plus Witr which is a special one)

Sunnah (confirmed Sunnah)-----

  • 2 Rak'ah before Fajr

  • 4 Rak'ah before Dhuhr and 2 Rak'ah after (I know it sounds like a lot baybes, but trust me. It is NOT. Take it from someone who prays it, Alhamdulillah)

  • None for Asr

  • 2 Rak'ah after Maghrib

  • 2 Rak'ah after the fardh prayer of Isha (there's also Witr, but that's a special one)

Optional prayers (cuz I'm not completely sure what is Nafl and what is not)-----

  • Tahajjud 2-4 Rak'ahs. This is when you are the closest to Allah (SWT).

  • Duha 2 Rak'ahs after sunrise, but before Dhuhr.

  • Sunnatul Wudu. 2 Rak'ahs. This prayer is supposed to be prayed immediately after Wudu.

Hadith: The Prophet (Salla-Allaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said: “There is no Muslim who performs Wudu’ and does it well (perfectly), then stands up and prays two Rak’ah in which his heart is focused as he faces the Qiblah, but Paradise will be due to him.” [Reported by Muslim]

  • Salat At-Tawbah. 2 Rakah prayers for when you are repenting for a sin you did.

  • 2 Rakah voluntary prayers before leaving and after entering the house.

Islamic videos:

  • https://fb.watch/aPuxXEbt3s/ (you ever had questions such as "Why did God make humans knowing that some would disappoint Him?" or "Why should we be amazed by Allah's creation? Such as the mountains, the sun, the moon etc. Why should I be amazed when I know that for God it was nothing?" These questions are answered by a very intellectual person: Dr. Zakir Naik.)

  • You can watch videos of the two people I mentioned above they have very good answers to a lot of questions MashAllah. Mufti Menk is also a very honorable and wise person, Alhamdulillah.

  • Why Muslim Women Wear Hijab_ Best Answer By Aminah Assilmi - YouTube (This is a really good answer and speech by a Muslim sister. Mentions of r*pe and sexual attraction. But I know that this creates some controversy, but let me remind you that whatever things you hear when it relates to Islam, you should always check the Qur'an and Sunnah because those are the only two reliable answers you can ever get. The answers and lectures given above are just expanded explanations and translation of the old language. But even then you should look at the Qur'an and Sunnah and really think about it. Think whether this aligns or makes sense with the evidence from Qur'an and Sunnah.)

Just a reminder that these videos aren't meant for just girls or just boys. Every Muslim should try to learn as much as they can about Islam, because that is how you will develop a love for Allah and Islam.

Reminder:

This post isn't meant to put any hate or insult anyone. It's just hear to help you with your Ramadan and I apologize if I wrote anything hateful.

P.S: for the people who I know are gonna call out on me and say "WhEn DiD yOu gET sO reLiGouS?" Habibti, let me remind you. The stuff which is above. Most of them are literally the basics of Islam. WHY, pray tell, are you calling THE BASIC ACTS OF WORSHIP, "too religious".

LET ME REMIND YOU, SWEETIE. That Islam is a way. Of. Life. It is a 💫LIFESTYLE💫. So shut up, and please just follow or at least consider what I have written above.

Also I became "too religious" (quoted) last week, and I'm tryna get you into this lifestyle too cuz, oh boy oh boy, is it amazing. Trust me. You will so not regret it.

If you don't really care what I'm saying, or you think I'm exaggerating or any of those feelings or thoughts... just go read my other posts labelled "The Tricks of Shaytaan" to read in a bit more detail how or why you're feeling hesitant thoughts. But short answer for why? It's a trick of Shaytaan.

Thank you for coming to my TedWrite.
